System Reserved Tags

These variables can be used in your template regardless of whether they are in your merge map or not. They will be placed in your merge map by default when the application loads.

  • <<FirstName>>
  • This is linked to the First Name field in the Outlook Address Book.
  • <<LastName>>
  • This is linked to the Last Name field in the Outlook Address Book.
  • <<Title>>
  • This is linked to the Title Field in the Outlook Address Book.

Example Template using system reserved variables:

Dear <<Title>> <<FirstName>> <<LastName>>,

I want to thank you very much for your interest in the item I have for sale.  Unfortunately I am out.  I do however have serveral on order and should be here in the next couple weeks.  <<FirstName>> would you like me to inform you once they become available.

Example Merge to a person in Outlook's Address book named Mr. John Doe:
